A slow-moving cold front will increase the coverage of thunderstorms in Arkansas from Tuesday through Wednesday.
John Robinson, Warning Coordination Meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Little Rock says we will probably see at least a few severe thunderstorms on Tuesday in the northern half of the state, from afternoon through the evening and on into the overnight hours.
On Wednesday, isolated severe storms could occur in central and southern Arkansas during the afternoon and evening.
Each day, damaging winds should be a greater threat than large hail. Also, the stronger storms will produce locally heavy rain — more than an inch in one hour in some cases.
