The National Weather Service is forecasting a slight chance of severe thunderstorms over a portion of the Arkansas River Valley on Wednesday. And the hint of any rain at all is welcomed news for the region recently scorched by high temps and a lack of rainfall.
Any thunderstorm activity which does occur, mixed with the continuing hot conditions, could result in multicell storms, producint high winds and some hail. Chance of rain will remain slight for the region through Friday, with sunshine expected back in the forecast for the remainder of the weekend. Temperatures should be near 100 on Wednesday, backing off into the lower to mid 90’s, again, for Thursday through the upcoming weekend.
