Severe Weather Outlook for Monday, June 23, 2014

Arkansas will be in an unsettled weather pattern for most of this week. As such, on most days we could see a couple of severe thunderstorms in the state. In addition, the storms will be rather slow-moving, meaning that there will be some locally heavy rain associated with the stronger storms. Rainfall totals up to 2 inches in just an hour or two will probably occur, but such amounts will be over relatively small areas. Nevertheless, some flash flood warnings may become necessary.

There will be a couple of times this week when chances for a few severe storms and localized flooding will be greater. One of these will be from this afternoon through this evening and into the overnight hours. Another looks to be in the Wednesday/Thursday time frame.
