Along the eastern outskirts of the beautiful Arkansas River Valley stands the cone shaped peak of Pinnacle Mountain, which has been an Arkansas landmark for generations. At 1,011 feet above sea level, this popluar park is surrounded by wooded hillsides, lush lowlands, and clear waterways. A summit view provides a panorama of God’s beautiful handiwork carved into the eastern slopes of the Ouachita Mountain range.
The recreation area at the base of Pinnacle Mountain provides picnic tables, grills, water, a playground, restrooms, and a large open air pavilion. If you like to hike, you’ll enjoy the many trails offered at the park. From the breathtaking view at the summit to the meandering flood plain of Kingfisher Trail, visitors have found countless hous of hiking pleasure!
The visitor center offers a large wildlife viewing window, animal displays, and hands on exhibits. The Environmental Education Pond is used for aquatic studies, fishing clinics, and wildlife observation…and is open to the public unless there is a school program taking place. And a native flower garden, butterfly garden, and a native flower meadow, all maintained by the Pulaski County Master Gardeners, attract wildlife and provide education and enjoyment for visitors to the park.
