In it’s 15th year, the Annual Mount Magazine Butterfly Festival offers pageants, contests, exhibits, guided nature walks, a 5K race, and more!
The festival officially begins Friday, June 24th at 8:00 am at the State Park with horticultural and butterfly seminars, nature walks with interpreters, and more. The Miss Butterfly Pageant will be held at the Paris Middle School Auditorium on North 10th Street on Friday evening at 7 pm.
Saturday events begin at the State Park at 8 am and end at 7 pm. Downtown Paris festivities begin on Saturday with the Butterfly Angel 5K race at 7:30 am and include a parade, opening ceremonies, live butterfly release into the Butterfly Conservatory, local entertainment, arts and craft and food vendors, a fine art show/sale, quilt show, photo contest and an exciting KidZ Zone.
The festival concludes in downtown Paris with a Live Concert from 7-11:30 pm featuring Jason Boland & the Stragglers & the John D. Hale Band at the Logan County Fairgrounds. Tickets for the Concert may be purchased for $20 at the gate or from the following outlets: Paris Chamber of Commerce, Big Red Corner Store, 22 Foods, Circle S Convenience, The Bluff at Morrison’s Bluff, Hooters in Ft.
