John Robinson, Warning Coordination Meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Little Rock, says the approach and arrival of a cold front will bring another round of thunderstorms to Arkansas on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Robinson says we will probably see, on Tuesday, at least a few severe thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening over the northern half of Arkansas. Within this area, the northern third is likely to be the favored area.
Damaging winds will probably be a greater threat than large hail, according to Robinson. And some storms will continue after midnight…but chances for severe weather should decrease by then.
On Wednesday, the southern half of the state will be the favored area. Chances for severe weather, overall, will probably be somewhat less than on Tuesday.
Each day, the strongest storms will produce locally heavy rain, perhaps enough to cause some localized flooding.
