A former Johnson County man has died in an accident on Highway 123 near Clarksville. State police say 32-year-old William Garrett Lingar of Little Rock died after he lost control of the 2003 Nissan Xterra he was driving and hit a tree. Police say the vehicle was traveling east on 123 just east of the Clarksville City Limits, when it veered to the left, crossing the center line into the westbound lane, then ran off the road and struck the tree head-on. The weather was clear and the road was dry when the accident happened at 11:18 late Friday morning.
Editor’s note: Information from the family indicates that Mr Lingar was of Clarksville and not of Little Rock. This was apparently a mistake on the State Police report from which this story was taken.
