Bargains Galore on 64 – August 11-13, 2011

Each second weekend of August, Arkansas River Valley residents clean out the closets, garages, and sheds…others hook on their trailers and gas up their vehicles…and get ready for 160 miles of swappin’ and shoppin’ during Bargains Galore on 64!

From Fort Smith to Conway and then on to Beebe, US Highway 64 becomes a non-ending flea market of antiques, collectibles, clothes, unused items, and other junk…er, merchandise…for four days straight, Thursday through Saturday.

2011 will be the 12th year for this very popular and successful event. As we’ve said for years, if you plan to get anywhere fast in the area during the event, be sure to stay clear of Highway 64, as it will be slow going. Others who are looking for that special treasure will enjoy Bargains Galore on 64.

This is my 4th year of Bargains Galore of 64 and I have never made it passed Russellville. I am from Ramona Oklahoma so I start at Fort Smith and I love every minute of it, just curoius if I don’t make it
passed Russelville again what I am missing. I am going to try to move a little faster this year so I can
go farther, but not sure I can there is so much and I don’t want to miss anything. I love Bargains Galore of 64.

Honestly, you aren’t missing a ton by not making past Russellville. There are few good sales here and there but they are way fewer and much farther in between then say between Van Buren and Ozark. There are a couple of towns that get in to the spirit past Russellville. Morrilton and Atkins usually have their downtown set up for shoppers.
